This term we are studying Way Down Deep and it is a lot of fun. We are doing pictures of fish and lots of stuff like that. Room 6 did a school play about Way Down Deep. We went to the Museum for a field trip. My favorite bit was when we went into a room and there was someone talking about how there will be an eruption. After that they made the room shake and it felt so realistic. Then we had a look at this bit where it said someone couldn’t escape from the eruption and he got badly burnt by lava and most of his skin got peeled by the hotness. Then we moved on and went to a place where you were standing on some glass which had lobster and some fish underneath.

Once on a small planet called Mercury there was a alien called Beady. Beady was not really a friendly alien but he did own the school. Beady was the meanest mercune. The only reason Beady was rich was because his dad discovered mercury. Beady didn’t bring his lunch he stole all the sugary stuff so he was really fat. Beady went home early because he pulled down someones pants. Beady walked home and saw his parents smiling so hard they were crying.”WE DISCOVERD A NEW PLANET!!!!” Beady’s name was Beady Earth Mercury. So they called it Earth. The story was in the space paper so the next day Beady had 12 best friends so Beady was very nice now and very happy.

Dear Mice,
Thank you for the dead bird I had for lunch today, and by the way do you think I am deaf? I heard every word that you said about me and…when you put the dead bird out you got interrupted so I grabbed the bird and the silly mouse who came up with this stupid plan.the only thing that I thought was completely true in your meeting is that I am a sly cat and there is nothing you can do about it. By the way all the mice that lived in the hole a long time ago are now in my tummy, and the exactly the same thing is going to happen to all of you one day. I am just warning you that in 1 week and a half I am having 9 babies that are about 10 cm taller then you so now you better start writing our will.

P.S that bird could have done with a baked potato on the side.

Dear Lions,
You are my favourite animal because you love meat just like me.
I know a lot about you because I did a project on you.
And one day I am getting a pet lion.
I would want to be a king but I am not anywhere near that.
Is it cool, do you get to sit in a throne? Do you get to wear a crown?
It must be fun being a lion? Do you have a secret language?
My sister likes monkeys but I like you.

Dear Mr Des Forges
I hope you had an EXCELLENT egg eating time because I had a great time. Our family didn’t go away, we decided to stay here in Auckland. My favourite day in the holiday was Easter Sunday so I might tell you about that! When I woke up I felt really excited because it was Easter and come o what 8 year old girl dosn’t like easter and the thought of all those eggs!
In the morning when in the kitchen I saw there LARGE! eggs on the table. 2 shaped as a bunny and 1 HUGE egg shaped as a pig (IT WAS 1 KG!!) and 2 small sized eggs for me and George because our eggs weren’t as big.
Later on that morning Mum went outside and saw the Easter bunny had visited. Georgina, Leo and I started hunting for Easter treats (like we always do). I found about 20 chocolates and when I looked in the mailbox I found 1 egg and three letters. Then we all ran to mum and dad and opened the letters. WOW $40 and a card each. Of course it was from our Grandma she always trys to suprise us. We then all decided that today was going to be a family day so we would see no Friends or use computers or phones.
After that we went into the lounge and talked. I wasn’t really talking I was to busy looking at all my eggs! Later on we all decided to go for a long walk. My sister was slow on the walk because she didn’t want to ruin her brand new, clean tramping boots (Leo & George only got new tramping boots because they are going on a 7 hour tramp and I can’t come). After the walk we were all really, really hot so we decided to go for a swim in our friends pool.
About half an hour later we went home, had showers then headed out to parnell where we had lunch at Non Solo Pizza we ate so much that we were sooooo full. We went for a walk around the old village where we found a chocolate shop we couldn’t help our selves so we went inside and feasted on more chocolate! On the way home we went into the video shop to get some DVDs. Where were so full from lunch, so we decided not to have dinner. Then it was time for bed. I felt soo sad… no more chocolate eggs for me until next year.
Best wishes
Sam xx
